Richard Cooper
Aberdeen Representative
Richard has a background in emergency response and crisis management, having worked in the Oil & Gas industry since 2014. He currently holds the role of Aberdeen Representative within OSRL, supporting response and preparedness activities, both as a trainer and technical advisor for member organisations operating in the UKCS.
Since joining OSRL in 2018, Richard has held roles both in Southampton and Aberdeen. He has responded to oil spill incidents globally, including in the UK, Congo, and the Bahamas. He has also supported numerous preparedness activities including the delivery of accredited OPEP, IMS/ICS, IMO, and MCA training courses.
Richard has a BSc in Disaster Management and Emergency Planning from Coventry University.
