The course describes IMS features and principles, organisational structure, the Incident Action Plan, Span of Control and common responsibilities. IMS 100 is a prerequisite for all continued IMS Training Courses.

If your role requires you to work within emergency management, response or planning, this introductory course will give you the foundation knowledge to prepare you to work within an Incident Management System (IMS) framework.
This course will give you an overview of IMS and its applications, designed to teach you the basic functions, features, concepts and organisational principles of the Incident Management System (IMS).
At the end of this course, you will be aware of the major staffing functions within IMS, including positions and responsibilities, the facilities and functions of the planning section, including the Incident Action Plan (IAP), be able to assume limited roles within an incident management team for simple incidents and understand the role of Unified Command (UC).
