TPR Seminar Series - Part Three: In-Situ Burning
Tiered Preparedness and Response (TPR) is an internationally recognised planning approach that enables the integration of local, regional and global capabilities into oil spill response planning.
In-Situ Burning (ISB) has been shown to be successful in many environments to remove oil from land, snow, ice or water. The use of ISB can reduce the need to collect and dispose of recovered oil.
In the third of this 16 part series exploring the wedges of the TPR Wheel, Senior Consultant Tristan Barston, explains the considerations of using Controlled In-Situ Burning as a response option.
