Oil Spill Response Agrees New 10 Year Contract with 2Excel Aviation to Provide Global Reach Capabilities

Over the last five years, Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) and 2Excel Aviation have developed and operationalised the unique TERSUS dispersant delivery system, currently the only fully compliant aviation solution to support the oil & gas industry.

Building on this successful partnership, the two British based companies are extending this proven and reliable service by agreeing a ten-year contract, assuring the continuity of the aircraft through to the end of 2028

2Excel is providing two large dispersant aircraft (Boeing 727) operated out of the UK as a global reach capability. The partnership is future proofing the aircraft with innovative avionics and continually evolving the aircrew training programme to ensure the safety of the highly skilled and experienced Special Operations team.

The OSRL / 2Excel collaboration is the only provider meeting stringent aviation safety regulations, where no other entity is current or future compliant.

Over the last two years the partnership has completed over 300 exercises, with 100% system reliability, throughout Africa and Europe and is proud of its resilience and unique position in the industry.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 52 weeks of the year, the response specialists are on standby to be airborne and loaded with dispersant within 4hrs. The crew can respond anywhere in the world, including challenging conditions such as remote, off-shore locations, and freezing weather conditions.

Robert Limb (OSRL CEO) comments “After developing and operationalising the system over the last 5 years OSRL felt confident in the capabilities of 2Excel to extend the contract for a further 10 years.

This contract anticipates future development and reassures our members and the wider oil spill community, including regulators, that we are assuring the B727 service for the next decade.”

Andy Offer 2Excel Director remarks:

“Having conceived, designed, manufactured and delivered this unique capability, we are delighted to cement & develop our relationship. As the only compliant service provider, we look forward to the opportunity to grow our joint capability over the next 10 years and beyond.”

The 2Excel B727 in distinctive Oil Spill Response livery will fly in formation with the World-Renowned Blades Aerobatic Team on their wing, all through the week at Farnborough International Air Show.
