OSRL prepares to make a splash at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International Conference & Exhibition on Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Social Responsibility

SPE HSSE Conference

Just under two weeks to go now until the oil industry’s Health Safety & Environment community descends upon Stavanger, Norway where this landmark biennial event is being hosted.  OSRL’s oil spill focus features within the environmental stream of this broad spectrum event, however each other aspect of the conference resonates with the way we do our day-to-day business on behalf of our oil industry membership.

Declan O’Driscoll, Technical & HSEQ Director, is on the Environmental Committee and through this link we have teamed up with IOGP (The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) and IPIECA (The International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association) to deliver a panel session focussing on the post Macondo knowledge investment that has been enabled through the Joint Industry Project (JIP).

Chris Moore, Technical Manager, will be delivering an e-poster presentation highlighting the lessons learned from our experience of staging two Major mobilisation exercises and Andy Nicoll, Advocacy Manager, will give a presentation in the Social Responsibility session about the outreach and communication efforts that industry has made, including, amongst other things, OSRL’s Confident Ambassador programme.

OSRL will have its own exhibition stand from where we will be able to showcase our people and our services, but more especially our “local” SWIS base which coincidentally is also in Stavanger. Øistein Dahlslett, Norway Base Manager, and other staff members from our Norway base will be on hand as a palpable demonstration of a “global company with a strong regional focus”.
