OSRL can confirm that it has been mobilised to Sri Lanka in response to the incident relating to the container ship, the X-Press Pearl. The vessel is currently 10km offshore, approximately 12 km north of the capital city, Colombo.
OSRL is working closely with ITOPF, and a team of our response specialists are already en-route. Our first priority is ensuring that our responders, and the teams they are supervising, have the appropriate safety provisions in place. Once in-field our role will be to advise on the protection of sensitive assets and on the clean-up of contaminated areas drawing on our 36 years of experience as a global spill response organisation.
