At OSRL, we are passionate about maintaining a globally credible capability for oil spill preparedness and response services. The Global Technical Department supports the organisation in achieving this goal through an 'Innovate, Develop, Share and Assure' approach to sustain a high level of response integrity and resilience through a continued programme of improvement, stewardship and support:
Innovate and Develop: Innovate and develop to improve our oil spill resources on a global basis.
Share: Share oil spill knowledge internally and externally.
Assure: Provide assurance so that our capability remains robust and credible.
We provide a technical source of excellence as well as ensuring high technical standards in all activities, facilitate knowledge sharing and information management. Furthermore, we are well placed to reach out to industry to share key messages via our Outreach and Communication programme, providing industry with the ability to use all of the response tools in every country of operation.

Technical Competence:
Enhance the capability and quality of staff in recognition of the need, not only for a practical core skill base, but increasingly for specialist expertise.
Techniques and Processes:
Provide key value added response services of increasing breadth, depth and quality.
Surveillance, Modelling and Visualisation:
Meet the challenge of industry demand for smarter, technologically advanced solutions in the integrated fields of surveillance modelling and visualisation.
Advocacy and Engagement:
Provide an industry voice to encourage governments, their agencies, industry and other involved parties.
