SCAT: Shoreline Clean-up Assessment Technique

quinta-feira, 30 de julho de 2015

The shoreline clean-up phase can be the most time consuming, expensive and potentially most controversial part of any oil spill response operation. Attend this webinar to learn about the strategic and technical aspects of Shoreline Clean-up Assessment Technique (SCAT) and the critical issues that decision-makers must face in the deployment of an effective shoreline clean-up and restoration programme. Shoreline Clean-up Assessment Technique (SCAT) is a well-established technique employed under the Planning Section of the Incident Command System (ICS) and is used to document the status of oiled shorelines and their subsequent treatment recommendations, in a methodical and scientific manner. SCAT teams played a critical role in the preparation, planning and validation of shoreline protection and treatment during the 2010 Macondo response in the Gulf of Mexico.
