Aerial surveillance response services in West Africa are provided by the West African Surveillance Platform (WASP), which is available through a supplementary agreement.
In partnership with Action-Air Environnement (AAE), we have created a service that combines technology with unique regional coverage for improved situational awareness. This additional service is available to all OSRL Members who require a Tier 2 aerial surveillance capability in the region. The WASP service coverage extends from the northern boundary of Mauritania to the southern point of South Africa and the adjoining sea up to 150 miles from the coast.
The service currently uses two dedicated surveillance aircraft operating from Lome Airport in Togo and Libreville Airport in Gabon. With a four-hour wheels-up mobilization time, our aerial surveillance can provide accurate, high-quality information during a response. Early situational awareness allows the Incident Management Team (IMT) and regulators to make well-informed decisions regarding the optimal operation of response resources.
We offer access to the WASP Surveillance Service through a supplementary subscription to a Member’s existing Associate/Participant Agreement.
