OSRL's Deputy Aberdeen Manager, Ken Church recently conducted an offshore deployment exercise west of Shetland. The exercise was run with BP using their PSV (NS Elida). One Lamor LUT skimmer and 400m of Ro-Boom 2200 Offshore containment and recovery equipment from the OSRL Tier 2 Shetland Stockpile, were loaded onto the NS Elida.
As part of the equipment deployment the Benarkle II fishing vessel, part of the OSRL Fishing Vessel Service was made available to pick up the other end of the tow of the boom to form recovery formations.
The exercise was completed safely and successfully and the sun even made an appearance!
