National Apprenticeship Week is underway, and Joe Hartley, an Engineering Apprentice at OSRL, reflects on a rewarding first year. From team camaraderie to offshore deployments, he shares insights into his apprenticeship with the Equipment Hire Services team.

Today is International Education Day, and to mark the occasion, we reached out to Jake Smallbone, a third-year PhD student at the University of Essex with an interest in the microbial ecology of marine environments. Jake is currently focusing on hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria and how marine oil spills and the use of remediation strategies such as chemical dispersant use impact them.

We have been proud to support Jake, providing funding and expertise to enhance his research and connect with industry partners.

The Wildlife Preparedness & Response Community of Practice (CoP) - a collaborative multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at strengthening tiered preparedness for oiled wildlife incidents - organised its first-ever virtual wildlife response exercise this month to explore the potential challenges in a transboundary oiled wildlife incident.

As an integrated surface and subsea Global response organisation, we understand the critical importance of having a well-structured and efficient response system in place to address the potential subsea loss of well control incidents timely and effectively for our members.
