Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) has launched a new, cost effective membership option for shipping companies, offering a comprehensive level of service, with guaranteed and immediate response, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

On the 15th and 16th May this year senior representatives from both ITOPF and OSRL sat down to discuss current developments within both organisation. The discussion centred on the state of both the shipping and oil and gas industries with regards to spill response.

The OSRL team worked with Maersk Oil to develop an Incident Management System in complete conformance with the good practice guide, fit for the size and complexity of its operations and the outlook of the organisation's senior leaders.

Direct observation has been the preferred means of determining the location and extent of an oil spill for many years, but that is changing as unmanned units enter the market.

Oil Spill Response Ltd has been collaborating with its members, wider industry, and other stakeholders in the establishment of a single unit airfreightable capping stack capability.

Oil Spill Response Limited’s (OSRL) latest development in subsea well capping technology, Offset Installation Equipment (OIE), was officially launched today from the equipment’s new home base in Trieste, Italy.

The well-attended event, which featured key figures from across the offshore industry, represented the culmination of six years’ work between members of the Subsea Well Intervention Project (SWRP), OSRL and leading oil and gas engineering specialists, Saipem.

OSRL were invited to attend the UK National Exercise (Exercise Shen), which was held in Aberdeen and hosted by Nexen/CNOOC between 27^th & 28^th February 2018. 

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) and France’s Centre for Documentation, Research and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution (CEDRE) have signed a ‘Letter of Cooperation’ to strengthen operational-level collaboration, as well as increasing personnel and knowledge sharing across a broad range of areas related to spill preparedness and response.

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) has announced that its latest development in subsea well capping technology is now available to its members. Designed specifically for scenarios where direct vertical access to a well head is not viable, the new Offset Installation Equipment (OIE) enables capping or related equipment to be installed at a safe distance from an incident.
